Body of man found in vehicle in Black Creek

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- A vehicle found in Black Creek near the Middleburg Boat Ramp on Main Street contains the body of a man who went missing August 16, according to Clay County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mary Justino.

Christopher Timmers, 23, was last seen just before midnight August 16 at Senor Wings, 700 Blanding Boulevard. He was last seen driving a beige/gold 2008 Honda Odyssey minivan.

After the CCSO dive team found the vehicle, a tow truck was called in to take the vehicle out of the water. Once the vehicle was taken out of the water, it was identified as Timmers' vehicle and his body was found inside.

Timmers cause of death is unknown at this time and his body has been taken to the Jacksonville Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, Justino said.
