Middleburg Motorist Arrested for Hitting Pedestrian, Leaving

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville police have arrested a Middleburg man after a pedestrian was struck on Spring Park Road in Jacksonville.

Charles Garrison, 24, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report said a witness followed Garrison after she saw the incident, then got the tag number. A witness told police she saw a woman begin to cross Spring Park Road eastbound at Emerson in the crosswalk.

The witness told police the victim was walking behind her.  The suspect then turned west onto Emerson and struck the victim in the crosswalk. The report said the victim fell down, and the driver sped off, accelerating.

The witness followed the driver and when she contacted him, he told her he was going back to the scene.

Middleburg Man Charged with Molesting, Secretly Videotaping Child

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - A Middleburg man is accused of molesting a child and secretly videotaping the girl in the bathroom.

According to an arrest report from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Jeffrey McDonald, 50, admitted he molested the victim between 2004 and 2007.

The girl was under age 12 at the time.

The report shows that in 2010, when the girl was younger than 16, McDonald admitted he secretly videotaped her undressing in a bathroom.

Mcdonald is charged with sexual battery, lewd and lascivious molestation and video voyeurism.

Search for Teen in Clay County Ends with Arrest

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The 16-year-old who has been the subject of a large search for two days has been found and arrested.

Mary Justino, a spokesperson for the Clay County Sheriff's Office, said this morning the boy was found after a felony traffic stop.

The search began Wednesday afternoon when he reportedly went to his mother's house and she called the sheriff's office.

A six-hour search failed to find the boy, and another search overnight into Thursday in the area of Donna Drive in Middleburg also did not find him.

New information about the search has accompanied his arrest.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office report indicates the incident began Tuesday when a victim reported having her vehicle stolen from her driveway.

Local Meth Raids Net Arrests, Children Removed from Home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Four apparent methamphetamine labs were raided this morning in an extended, multi-agency operation, resulting in eight arrests.

A mobile home in the first block of Bullrush Court in Middleburg was raided this morning, said Mary Justino, spokesperson for the Clay County Sheriff's Office.  Four people were arrested at the scene, and two of those people were taken to the Duval County jail and are facing federal charges, she said.

The other two, 38-year-old Jonathan Meyers and 33-year-old Jennifer Baggett, were taken to the Clay County jail where they will be held on local charges.

Two children were removed from the home.
