Keystone "Bridge Wildfire" Update | Environment
On Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm multiple fire crews from Clay and Putnam counties and the Florida Forest Service were dispatched to a wildfire off State Road 100 near County Road 219.
This fire is approximately 20 acres in size and is currently contained but not out. The fire is known as the “Bridge Fire” and is burning in a dry lake bed, fire crews will return on Sunday to continue “mop up” operations which will maintain the fire containment within the current fire lines.
No damage to homes and or injuries was reported in relation to this fire. State Road 100 and County Road 219 were closed during the fire suppression activities for safety and visibility reasons, but are now open.
Officers from the Clay County Sheriff’s office and the Florida Highway Patrol will be monitoring the smoke conditions on the roadway throughout the night, if conditions warrant the road will be closed due to limit visibility on the roads from the smoke that is in the area form the fire.
