Clay County Enacts Burn Ban

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Clay County has no enacted a burn ban that will stay in effect until further notice.

The County Manager issued the ban in response to dry conditions which are adding to the likelihood of wildfires breaking out.

That means residents aren't allowed to do any outdoor burning, including bon fires, campfires and burning yard waste.

There are 31 active wildfires of 100 acres or more throughout the state, and Florida has declared a state of emergency through June 10.
