Lewd battery suspect turns himself in to police

UPDATE 11/5/13: The suspect, Stephen Dyne, turned himself into the Green Cove Springs headquarters Tuesday, according to a Clay County Sheriff's Office press release. Dyne is held at the Clay County Jail on charges of Lewd Battery and pending charges of eluding arrest.

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is seeking a man who is wanted for Lewd Battery, which he allegedly committed on a teen girl in the spring.

Stephen C. Dyne, 22, reportedly eluded arrest on the charge last week, according to a release from CCSO spokesperson Mary Justino.

According to a CCSO Incident Report, police went to a home in the 1600 block of Rhonda Drive serve the warrant to Dyne. As they approached the house, police could see Dyne walking around the house.

Dyne's brother then locked the door and closed the blinds while Dyne went out the back door of the house and began jumping fences. While officers were pursuing Dyne, he came back to his home to ask for shoes and his mother told him "no," according to the report.

While he was eluding officers, Dyne reportedly damaged several homeowner fences as he trespassed in their backyards.

Dyne's criminal background includes charges of Child Abuse, Lews/Lascivious (Victim 12 Years Old up to 15 Years Old) and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

He now faces additional charges for eluding arrest and his initial charge of Lewd Battery carries a bond of $50,000, Justino said.

If anyone has any information of Dyne's whereabouts, they are asked to contact CCSO at (904) 264-6512.
