MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- Tebow has been found, safe and sound.
The dog who went missing when he was let out of a car in a Walmart parking lot on Sept. 7 was returned to his owner Susan Wargo Tuesday afternoon.
The man who had the dog found him the night he was let loose in the parking lot, according to a release from Clay County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mary Justino.
The man, identified as Doug Frampton by our The Florida Times-Union news partner, saw a story about the dog's disappearance on the T-U's website and was put in touch with Wargo by T-U reporter Dan Scanlan, Justino said.
Tebow was let out of the car by Brian Dolinger, who was parked a few spots over from Wargo and was annoyed by the dog's barking. Dolinger was arrested for burglary to an automobile and grand theft.
The man who found Tebow took the dog home to care for him because he could not find Wargo. The man also took the dog to the vet to see if Tebow had a tracking chip, but he did not.
