Police searching for female car burglar

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives with the Clay County Sheriff's Office are searching for a woman suspected of stealing items from multiple vehicles.

Detectives believe the woman may be traveling back and forth between Clay County and the Florida panhandle, according to a news release from Mary Justino, Public Information Officer for the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Justino said in November the suspected thief stole a purse containing credit cards and a phone from a car in Keystone Heights.  The stolen credit cards were used in Middleburg, Justin said, and then in Destin, Florida.

Police are hoping a surveillance video taken at a Regions Bank drive-through ATM in Destin will lead to her arrest.

Justino said the woman is also seen in surveillance video using one of the stolen credit cards at a GameStop in Middleburg.

Anyone who recognizes the woman in the picture is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512 and ask to speak with Detective Chad Ricks in the General Investigations Unit.

Justino said detectives are not sure why she chose to break into Clay County vehicles.
