Clay County Named a “High Performing District”

The School District of Clay County is very proud to be named a “2011-2012 Academically High Performing School District” by the State Board of Education.  Only 12 other districts in the state received this designation. To earn this honor, a district must:

  • Comply with the Class Size Amendment
  • Maintain an “A” grade for two consecutive years
  • No school in the district can receive an “F”
  • Comply with all state statutes and rules
  • Receive sound financial audits

“I am very proud of everyone,” says Superintendent Ben Wortham.  “Education is a partnership, and it is through this partnership that we provide each and every child with the opportunity for success in a global and competitive workplace and in acquiring applicable life skills.”
